Is Costuming Your Passion? It's Ours, Too!

The National Costumers Association welcomes new members! Our members come in two major categories: Businesses that sell costumes and accessories (called Buyer members) and vendors that supply costumes and accessories.

Buyer Members

     Our Buyer Members are primarily bricks-and-mortar businesses that sell costumes, accessories, make-up and related products. Online vendors are also welcome to join, as long as they stock their products.

    The benefits of joining include:

  • Significant discounts from a wide range of leading vendors to the industry through the exclusive NCA Buyers Group and the NCA Bundle Program
  • A subscription the quarterly Costumer magazine, packed with information about the industry and tips to succeed in it

Vendor Members

Vendor members of the NCA have access to the core of the costuming industry. Vendor members receive the following benefits:

  • Eligibilty to join the Buyers Group, an exclusive list of vendors who offer discounts to the NCA Buyer members
  • Invitation to join the NCA Zoom Fashion Show and other virtual events
  • Inclusion in the NCA Digital Catalog, which is distributed to all Buyer Members
  • Access to the member list for marketing purposes
  • Discounted advertising in Costumer magazine, www.costumers.org, and Costumer Today e-newsletter
  • Priority listing of new products in the Product Parade section of Costumer magazine and Costumer Today

Professional Members

Any person who is a professional in the field of costume design and/or manufacturing industry and derives at least 50% of their income from the field shall be eligible for membership as a costume professional.

    The benefits of joining include:

Official Description of Member Types

Rental / Retail Member:

Any company with over 50% of their stock consisting of theatrical and masquerade rental and retail costumes and related accessories which engages, year round and for profit in business, shall be eligible for membership

Retail ONLY Member:

Any company with over 50% of their stock consisting of theatrical and masquerade rental and retail costumes and related accessories which engages, year round and for profit in business, shall be eligible for membership. Said retailer may not be a publicly held firm and/or have no franchises and/or have no more than 8 outlets.

E-Commerce Member:

Any company with over 50% of their stock consisting of theatrical and masquerade retail costumes and related accessories which engages, year round and for profit in business, shall be eligible for membership. Said retailer may not be a publicly held firm and/or have no franchises and/or have no more than 8 outlets.

E-Commerce qualification is defined as: “Electronically generated retail commerce activities where supplier and buyer are not face to face for order or delivery of product. Firms conducting this type of commerce are required to have inventory on hand to ship to customer. Drop shipment, E-Commerce only companies are not eligible for NCA membership.”

Costume Professional:

Any person who is a professional in the field of costume design and/or manufacturing industry and derives at least 50% of their income from the field shall be eligible for membership as a costume professional.
