Editor's Note: On Wednesday, NCA Executive Director Ed Avis emailed Tomas Siuipys, CEO of NCA Vendor Member Mustaches, which is located in Lithuania. Lithuania is on the Baltic Sea and borders Belarus to the east and Poland and a small part of Russia on the south. Ed asked Tomas how things are going for him since the Russian invasion of Urkaine.
Hi Ed, thanks for your concern. Horrible things are happening in our neighborhood. We were big supporters of Ukraine for many years. And now many of our people are actively involved in this unimaginable war. I don't know anybody who is indifferent to this. Everyone is donating money, medical supplies, fuel, power generators, you name it. Those who can, are buying and donating bulletproof vests and other nonlethal military gear. Many of our people drive vans (10-20 cars in a row) deep into Ukraine's territory to supply bases and donate everything they bring. On the way back they bring full cars of refugees. Many drive to the border to bring refugees, too. They spend many days traveling, they are scared and tired, so we take them with our personal cars to bring them to Lithuania faster. Many households in Lithuania have taken refugees from Ukraine. Our family also has registered to take 5-7 refugees. Everyone is involved, literally.
We just pray that NATO do something about it. Supplies of firearms is not enough. We are facing another Hitler in Europe and this is very scary.
Business in Lithuania is ok. Everyone works even harder to make more money, so they can donate to Ukraine. We are not exception too.
Best regards,
Tomas Siuipys
