The Halloween season means articles about costumes, and that puts the NCA and NCA members in the minds of journalists.
On October 7, NCA Member Chicago Costume was featured in a Today Show segment about costume shortages: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/halloween-stores-haunted-shipping-issues-just-weeks-holiday-n1280944
A Wall Street Journal article on October 12 about costume shortages mentioned NCA Executive Director Ed Avis and NCA Vendor Members Trick or Treat Studios and Zagone Studios: https://www.costumers.org/wall-street-journal-article-mentions-nca/
Chicago Costume was back in the news when an employee tweeted about a Spirit Halloween billboard that was posted near one of their locations. That tweet was retweeted many times, and eventually led to a Yahoo News article and this TV news segment: https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/locally-owned-chicago-costume-shop-pushes-back-against-giant-pop-up-halloween-chains
In Minnesota, NCA members Twin Cities Magic & Costume and Fun.com were included in an article in the Star Tribune.
But that’s definitely not the end of the story. The Wall Street Journal and the Chicago Tribune are writing more articles on this topic and have interviewed more NCA members. We’ll post those when they’re available.
